Vaccine Hesitancy

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), vaccination hesitancy refers to the delay in acceptance or refusal of vaccines despite availability of vaccine services. It is very complex and context specific varying across time, place and vaccines and is influenced by factors such as complacency, convenience and confidence.

A Social Issue

The uncertainty of the people on the vaccine has become an issue reflecting on and affecting many aspects. It is a factor that hinders or slows the country's progress in battling COVID-19. Unvaccinated individuals have a higher chance in contracting the virus and spreading it to others thus compromising the safety of the community. As much as it is a single person's personal choice, if it affects other people negatively, then we must do something to convince them to choose otherwise.

Awareness and Encouragement

The two things the Pilipinas, Vaxxed ka na ba? (PVKNB Project) advocates for.

We aim to raise awareness on vaccine hesitancy as it is something that can be solved with the help of everyone who is willing to. PVKNB Project intends to gather a socially aware audience who will not express negativity towards unvaccinated individuals but rather help us inform and educate people who are hesitant in getting vaccinated.

Our intention is to encourage people to know about this issue and for more to be aware and help us in moving forth our advocacy. We believe that encouragement does not only mean to urge but rather to inform, educate and to call out to the authorities or the more powerful and influential people to extend their efforts of getting everyone to get vaccinated by assuring them that the vaccine is safe and effective and boost everyone’s confidence in getting it.
